See you at the Luncheon!

He’s arts and he’s business. Quite the superhero, if you ask us!
The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) is truly one of Philadelphia’s longstanding cultural gems. Looking at it today, there’s a new building, a vibrant student body, and a dedicated staff and board.
Let’s talk about how PAFA’s Board Chair, Donald Caldwell, 2009 G. Fred DiBona Individual Leadership Award winner, helped PAFA get to where they are today.
Don’s efforts have transformed the face and dynamic of PAFA. Led by Don, the Samuel M.V. Hamilton Hall project nearly doubled classroom and exhibition space. Back in 2005, Don led a successful campaign in partnerships with the Philadelphia Museum of Art to “Save the Gross Painting”.
Still can’t believe this superhero? Soon after the Gross Painting campaign, the academy’s CEO resigned for another opportunity. As a dedicated member of the board, Don stepped in (like our Honoree superheroes tend to do) and led a search process for the academy’s CEO position.
Don has always been a good friend to the Arts & Business Council and was board chair for three years.
Want to know about his contributions at PAFA? Want to hear what people have to say about Don? Don’t miss Awards 2009—this Friday, May 15, 2009.
